“I have 2 rescue pups. One had early stage heartworm when i adopted her. Had her treated by the Vet and she is doing well 7 years later. Much easier and cheaper to prevent heartworm than treat it. Used the pill form at first, but had to crush them and put them in wet food and watch that they ate it all. One will eat heartgard like a treat, the other one refuses to. I chop hers up and put melted ice cream with it. I read that one reviewer uses cream cheese. I will try that next month. Excellent service from Allivet and better price than the vet.”
