“MT4/MT5 are perfect for Futures trading and my one and only recommended way of trading. MT is very well established with thousands of indicators available and more being developed everyday. The entire reason I am with AMP is because they are the only Futures Broker to provide MT5 Terminal trading.”
“Good: Reliable real-time Level 1 data for most US Futures and some FX Cash instruments.
Can use all the charting features (indicators, templates, experts, backtesting, accounting etc.) of MT5 which is faster and better than MT4.
Bad: Cannot resolve the time difference (UTC). So, if you are in the EST time zone, charts are based on UTC. Does not offer MBP or MBO (which is not expected from a free tool, anyway), but as a result, some Volume or market profile and VWAP analyses are not possible or reliable.”
“For Retail traders or investors a good choise, but not usefull to orderflow- and scalp-traders. There is a good market around this product where you can purchase add-ons. For TechnAnalysis I would use Tradingview or others like Ninja, Sierra...”
“I very much appreciate you asking about this. Although I also criticize some things about AMP, on the whole I am very satisfied.
MT5
First the good:
Almost never lag compared to Tradingview or Quantower.
very stable.
What's bad:
the platform is completely outdated. the charts are not adjustable, i.e. the price is not freely movable in the chart, but always fixed.
no order flow (delta volume, CVD ...) no usable volume analysis. no VWAP. no usable market depth (it is completely useless). no reasonable DOM. no order panel/trading toolbar. no permanent crosshairs. no volume candles. no independent Heikin-Ashi candles. Tools not collapsible, i.e. permanently as disturbing elements in the chart. no “Trading Locked”. No seconds chart. No market replay. no things like auto hod/lod. no TPO Charts. NO LEVEL 2 DATA! no "time to next bar".
All the best.”
