“Overall its great, few suggestions for improvement:
1. To add low/high columns for the options chain
2. To put the options first inside each symbol - meaning that the tabs of the event contracts are showing up first (the small dot tabs) and u need to switch every single one of them until u get to the option itself
3. To improve the phone app so that u can view ur positions in case of power surge - the app doesnt show the existing position and u need to type the exact full symbol name of the option to get to it in case u need a fast exit
4. To add charts for the options
5. If i sell an option that i bought a day earlier or more i cant use that new available balance after the sell, i need to wait until tomorrow for the statement to form so i lose that buying power for the entire trading day - if u change it so that the balance returns immediately it would b much helpful
Thank you!”
“I use RAPI with a custom application. I send bracket orders with OCO instructions. I have several cases where the OCO rules were not followed and both the profit target and stop loss were filled. In these cases a lot of bad things happened. A runaway orphan order was the least of the issues.
I ended up getting massive slippage on stop losses which then somehow got matched to an existing order of mine which caused a wash trade. I reached out to amp about this issue and they refused to take responsibility for the failure of their risk management system that ignored the OCO instructions.
Even worse, because of the wash trade, the closed my account, locked me out, and continued auto-billing me for services I could no longer use.
So Rithmic is a decent platform, but just don’t use AMP with it.”
“RAPI is the fastest retail API on the market by a wide margin. It beats ninjatrader, TradeStation and all other s by a magnitude. RTrader itself has a few drawbacks though.
1. It does not track bracket orders in the performance P&L. Instead it uses first in first out which matches the wrong entry and exits together instead of the actual bracket entries and exit.
2. The performance data goes away after market close. It just disappears completely. So you have no real orde level P&L history.
3. There is no concept of entry vs exit order natively. You have to use bracket orders being null to be assumed as entry’s and bracket orders not null to be the exit. Doable, but for anyone starting out, digging through the order history and recent orders tab this can be tricky. If you are expecting an entry va exit order designation - you will need to use bracket orders or time as a proxy.
4. The app goes down after market close on Friday and stays down until the market opens on Sunday. So for want to see your order history over the weekend- no dice. The app won’t even let you login to SIM to see old orders”
“I wish the DoM was more customizable. While I enjoy the platform, I find myself using ToS for charting and trade using Rithmic mobile. I'm even thinking about trying out Sierra Chart in order to have access to a quality customized DoM.”
