They're a massive pain to put on. You lose any possible length adjustment because the loop surface is covered tightly by the pads. You lose the elastic loops on the side of the piggyback straps. Sure, the EUD bridge can be attached more securely, but it's not at all worth it. These are going straight in the trash.

I purchased these for my flat pack. They were a pita to put on, and don’t really add much to the overall functionality. I imagine if I was carrying a load close to the max weight capacity of the pack, these pads would be nice. The most I”ve carried with the pack so far is 3 liters of water and an extra 13/3000 bottle. The pros are that they are well made. There’s a tube that runs the length of the pad that you can use to run hydration tubes or radio cables to lower the snag risk. There are molle loops at the end of the pads that will allow you to run the EUD bridge with the flat pack. The cons are that it’s hard to get the pads on over the hardware, so once it’s on, you won’t want to take them off. This means that you loose some of the modularity of the pack. Dropping the straps when mounting the pack with the molle attachments will be very difficult.
