I've run my Avalon through half a dozen events now and I have to say, this is a fantastic gun. In terms of how it shoots, this could easily sit among the greatest out-of-the box AEGs of all time. Unfortunately, the assembly process of my rifle was a huge let down and I can't give it the stars it deserves because of horrible quality control on VFC's part. Whats good? Beautiful finish. High-quality furniture (mostly). Fantastic rail construction. Shoots well, and far. Accepts upgrades easily. They are also known to be reliable. Whats bad? Mock gas tube was cut for CQB length and not carbine length, and was rattling around loudly inside the rails. When I went to remove it the bolt in the barrel ring was cross-threaded and needed to be drilled out. The bucking was installed incorrectly and would feed multiple bbs per shot with midcaps. It destroyed itself quickly. The off-hand safety switch is so loose as to be unusable and cannot be tightened further. The stock wobble is pretty bad and the butt plate has come off during firefights, leaving my battery in the dirt. The mock flash-hider pretty much takes an act of god to remove, even with heat. Bolt catch broke after one use, the metal was shaved down just enough to not catch. Outer barrel was also lose. Is the Avalon worth it? Yeah. If you fully intend to tear down your gun, r-hop it, throw a titan in it, or whatever other mods you like, all of the problems that I experienced were temporary issues and the end result is an incredible replica. If my experience sounds like a pain in the ass, buy a Krytac instead and leave it alone.
