“It's hard to describe how good I feel about the cotton shell. So far, I’ve put it through rain, a blizzard, and on sunny long ski trips in Tahoe.
My favourite attempt at beating this Land Cruiser of a jacker was a long solo ridge traverse on ice, rock, and snow with my skis on the back. It resisted scrapes and cuts where most technical jackets (perhaps with the exception of Norrøna Trollveggen with Gore-Tex Pro) would tear.
Also warmer when climbing up a North Face (in the shade) and then easy to vent / breathe nicely when on ridges or sunny sides.
I am looking forward to testing both jacket and pants while guiding on the glacier this summer – this is where most of my gear goes to die and most high end stuff only lasts a season due to cuts from crampons and microscrapes from the sharp ice.
Yet to waterfall ice climb with the set – curious to how it fares in wetter settings be it heavy rain or wet ice. Optimistic though!
I think this set will be invaluable for our Khan Tengri climbing expedition, especially at lower altitudes, and further endeavors.”
“Breathes super well and still keeps moisture out. The material feels great and is really comfortable to wear. Cotton done right. A solid choice for anyone looking for a stylish and functional jacket!”
