This course is more on pare with a college course rather than a basic 9th grade high school level course. The text book is very through, but difficult. The test though are impossible. They are written to confuse the students. As a parent working through the class with the students, I couldn't answer all of the questions, many weren't even covered in the textbook. Further more most of those you couldn't even figure out how they arrived at the answer. We also used the thumb drive with the videos, the course would be impossible without it. The videos were extraordinarily helpful. All in all I was very disappointed. We have used countless Apologia resources for elementary and middle school, but the jump between those materials and this course is massive. I had to throw out the tests, find supplementary materials to help explain the concepts in the course, and had to really work with the kids. It is far from a open and shut course that is primarily student lead.

Purchased for my students who love audiobooks. My older student has found it incredibly helpful to read along with the audio with fewer distractions, not needing to re-read sections. We were also able to listen and stay caught up during a roadtrip when we left the physical textbook at home.

MP3 Audiobook is such a game changer! Bought one for Young Explorer Series and loved it so much I immediately bought one for my HS Chemistry student. Changed the test scores from a C to an A. Loving it!

This recording is a little mundane, the reader doesnt sound very interested. Also, it would be helpful if it was divided by sections on the file.

Having the MP3 of the Biology text is super helpful and convenient! It is easy to listen to a module as we are in the car or out doing something. When we are back home looking at the actual physical text book to see which figures or charts were referred to, it is very easy for my child to grasp what has been taught. It is also helpful in that my child is more of an auditory learner and this helps deliver the information in the way she learns best. Really, having this format in addition to the physical text has been the perfect addition to our homeschool curriculum.
