“Having the audiobook for Zoolohy 2 enables our learning to happen whenever we have a spare moment as well as our science time! If I know there is a lot of reading (or listening) for the lesson then I will turn it on in the car, or at meal times. We are all together we can stop and start the lesson and discuss things. It gives us flexibility meaning we never miss science. The kiddos also love sitting and colouring the colouring pages while listening too. We are doing science a lot more consistently with the audiobook. As an adult I enjoy listening too and learning alongside. When the calving season starts and things get crazy the audiobook to and from the cowshed will allow us to continue science which usually we stop during that time. The textbook lives in the car during this time - finding time to do the experiments and the journal takes next to no time when the kids are excited and enthused about their learning after listening and wanting to do the experiments which is another part of Apologia science that they love”
“So, I am a huge fan of Apologia science, been using them since 2009 never needed an audio version before, but Ive had to put my attention elsewhere and still wanted my 10 and 7 year olds to move forward in this book (Zoology 2). Well unfortunately, the audio mp3 is not organized according to the lesson plans. So they have to search (by listening) to find the spot to start, and pay SUPER close attention to the textbook to find where to stop. This is extemely frustrating. Why not just make tracks for each break out as listed in the Lesson Plans in the Student Notebook?? They waste alot of time looking and then they listen too long (I mean, yay! Its exciting material), but then they dont have time to do the notebooking so anyway. We are limping through this way, but it would be alot easier if it had tracks that lined up with the assigned reading.”
“We enjoy the content of this curriculum, but the author narration of this book needs some work. The constant breathing sounds and mouth noises are very distracting.”
