“Firstly, it is listed online as a 'first aid-pouch', although it is designated as a 'first aid (OR) compass pouch'. IMO, it isn't big enough to serve as a first-aid pouch, so I personally use it as a compass & fire kit pouch. As with many of the contemporary USGI pouches, while not (unnecessarily) over built, quality materials & construction are used. It is lightweight & strong. Hardware seems to be brass & ALICE clips are alloy, of course. All these contemporary late model USGI ALICE clipped pouches seem to be resin impregnated on the inside of the nylon, making them water resistant. This is an uncommon, hard to come buy, important & long awaited feature for field use. O.D. colour is discreet & versatile. CONS: I have the Australian Army version of this pouch, which has 2 positions for the snap closure, handy when accommodating different capacities. Unfortunately this USGI one only has one. Then again, my Australian Army pouch is camo, canvas & heavier. This one is versatile O.D. & lighter. For a basic, but high quality, extreme-field-use pouch this simply can't be beaten.”
