“Just wrapped up an 11-day bike tour through Sri Lanka, and I have to say—it was an unforgettable experience. The country itself is what really made the trip. The people were incredibly kind, the vibe was warm and untouristy, and every day felt like a new discovery rather than a packaged tour.
Hotels and food: Top marks for accommodation. Every hotel we stayed at was clean, comfortable, and often luxurious. The service everywhere was excellent—attentive without being overbearing. The food overall was great too, with a solid variety of local and Western options. If I had one gripe, it’s the chicken—something about it at most spots just didn’t hit the mark.
Guide & driver: Both were professional and very friendly, which helped keep everything smooth and organized. I will say, I wish they had been a bit more engaging or conversational during downtime—it would’ve added another layer to the experience, especially for curious travelers.
Bikes & roads: The bikes were sturdy and reliable, which was a relief given the range of terrain. That said, the roads in many areas were a bit rough, so be ready for a few bumps (both literal and metaphorical) along the way.
Overall: This tour gave me a deeper appreciation for a country I didn’t know much about before. Sri Lanka is a hidden gem—lush landscapes, kind-hearted people, and very few tourists compared to other destinations. If you’re open to a little adventure and some uneven pavement, it’s absolutely worth it.”

“This tour provided good cycling along a great variety of scenic routes. The programme was very adaptable to the conditions (as it was very wet during our time there) with great extra activities and sites added onto the day we couldn't ride. The hiking was most enjoyable. The food variety was amazing and when cycling or at the end of a hike, fresh fruit was greatly appreciated. The amazing accommodation was very varied and all with their unique history and location which added to the overall charm.
The guide Charmara and driver Sudath were both wonderful and nothing was too much trouble for either of them answering all our questions and adding more.
We are both "mature" riders using e-bikes which we found adequate and we did not have any trouble cycling any of the varied routes.”
“We were a mixed group (ability & age) cycling group. Based around the Sri Lanka Luxury Bike Tour Art of Bicycles created a 6 day tour which was interesting, varied and great fun. Such a lovely way to experience the wonderful country of Sri Lanka. Our guide and supporting team really looked after us. When things didnt go quite according to plan, mechanical issues with bikes, slight changes to itinerary etc these were dealt with and sorted out promptly. We all thoroughly enjoyed our 6 days and would love to do another similar trip.”
