“The Japanese hatchet is what I expect from Japan, well made with an exceptionally hard head. As the the handle is made of white oak, do not use linseed oil on it, use pure tung oil (not the stuff from Bunnings, it is full of additives to increase drying time). I used a diamond steel to take the already sharp head to shaving sharp, which is holding well. Lots of curls to start a fire with. The leather case which has a belt loop to carry is well constructed and made of real leather and not faux/fake leather, you cant go past the smell of real leather. An exceptional hatchet that will last the ages and may find itself in an antique shop in 100 years.”
