Recipe Kit Dark Abyss Imperial Stout Reviews

Being a commercial brewer for 15 years, using this little kit was as simple as it gets and produces a great finished product. Looking forward to trying some of the other kits

Genuinely the best stout I've drunk (lived in UK most my life and enjoyed Guiness from the brewery tap in Dublin): a perfect balance of sweet and just enough bitterness to make it very moreish! Thick and full bodied, yet crisp. Initial cream soda and vanilla aromas lead to coffee and biscuity burnt toast flavours that aren't too strong. I'm enjoying after 3 weeks in the bottle but after only 2 weeks it was just as good. I used half the carbonation sugar used for a typical pale ale-better suited for stouts. I'll be brewing this again!

I cracked this one last night after bottling 2 months ago. Outstanding flavour, mouth feel and aroma. The ABV might be a bit low compared to a lot of commercial brews in the same style, but don't let that put you off.
