Typically, irritation occurs for 1 of these three reasons: too much product applied, too frequent application or eyes are not used to new products.
For your reference, here's our beginner's guide to using the lash treaments.
1. We always recommend beginners starting their lash journey for the first time to begin applying serum every 2-3 days before ramping up to daily use to give your eyes time to adjust.
2. Ensure skin and lashes are completely dry and wipe away any excess liquid before applying. Apply a thin line to the skin above the lashes. 3. Less is more; one wand dip is enough for both eyes.
4. Apply to the top lash line only.
5. Allow the product to dry.
In regards to the stye, Styes are caused by bacteria from your skin that get into and irritates the oil glands in the eyelids. These bacteria, which normally exist harmlessly on the skin of the eye, can sometimes get trapped along with dead skin cells on the edge of the eyelid and not typically caused directly by cosmetics or topical solutions themselves. Some individuals are more prone to styes than others, especially if they have underlying skin or other medical conditions such as acne rosacea or blepharitis. Using old makeup, such as mascara, eyeliner, and even foundation can put an individual at higher risk, so replace these frequently.
