Wow, this saw is great. It has a very durable strong constructed base and 0 play head and powerful motor. Very impressed with this machine for portable use. clear plastic shield broke off first week but thats normal for plastic parts. Cuts straight almost 5 years later. blades are 100 bux each which isn't bad and they can be sharpened, which i have done by a local machine shop. Precision cuts up to half inch with minimal prep can go from saw to qwik file to fit in seconds. durability wise i can only complain about the plastic handle which i am bias against plastic on tools. My favorite parts are the price and safety. enclosed blade with easy to use heavy duty clamping system. I can trust this saw wont hurt my guys on the job more than an abrasive saw or grinder.

I looked for a good saw for my home shop. I wanted something I could use to cut angles accurately to I could fabricate small projects in my shop. I read lots of reviews and saw many saying not to touch a carbide blade metal cut off saw because the blades are expensive and don't last. I also read reviews that said not to push the saw and the blades will last. Well the second were most accurate. The saw cuts at angles very well, I use a digital protractor to set it and end up with a clean, straight cut at the angle I preset. If you don't push the blade like you would with an abrasive saw, it lasts a long time. I'm still on my first blade, and although I don't cut tons of metal, I have made a welding bench out of heavy tubing and several brackets out of 2" angle iron, 3/8 inch thick. It goes through it like butter in my opinion and if you let the blade do the cutting and don't push it, the cuts are clean and straight. It cut through the angle iron at a 90 degree cut in about 20 seconds. Anyone can wait that long. I'm impressed with the saw, it is safe, has a nice vice, is adjustable and built well. I was not disappointed in my purchase in any way. I will look at Fein for more tools in the future.
