I had a Jet EVE 1642 for over 5 years had no problem at all. It run smooth all the time while I had it. Wanted something bigger and got new Laguna REVO 2436 with most of the stuff that went with it. I had problem with it vibrating from get go out of the box and that is with nothing on it. So I talk to service department and send bunch of video showing that the vibration was from the bent or bad spindle. The service guys at Laguna was very nice and helpful but they are not manufacturer of the product. So I learned that the lathe is cheaply made by some Chines company and sold here by Laguna and they had no problem with it vibrating. I'm not on a lathe all the time but if I was I would have spend more and bought an American or German made product. Anyway, it is not even a year and my Lathe the REVO 2436 stopped working. I looked at the troubleshooting guide it is a joke it is written for someone with no brain who should not be using any tool. I don't think I would have bought it if I had looked at the troubleshooting guide. By the way I have used it maybe 40 hours or less since I bought it. So don't wast your money on this go with something else.

The paper instructions for assembly are a little confusing. Especially those on the wheel system. Not to worry! Go to the web and google Laguna tools REVO 18/36. I have the 24/36 but the assembly appears to be identical. I recommend doing this before opening the boxes. There are 15 parts to the video which cover basic assembly and all of the optional equipment. The latter is also quite valuable should your work be improved by adding these items. The video is well narrated and edited. All episodes move right along and get at the essentials. The narrator is to be complimented as he carried that heavy equipment that he could move safely and had help on the other items. Amazingly he never broke a sweat. So awesome start with the equipment. I'll continue the review after some time on the machine. Enjoy turning.
