“I've been taking piano lessons with Teruko for the last 3 yrs. It was difficult for me to start learning piano as an adult, but she is an excellent teacher with unlimited patience. Initially, I wanted to jump ahead and learn difficult repertoire to show progress quickly and gain the satisfaction of playing complicated music sheets. Knowing my goals, Teruko directed me to learn such pieces in versions adapted to my current level. She helps me learn the entirety of piano - step-by-step rhythm, reading notes, balanced technique, theory, and more - in a highly structured and planned way. She puts so much effort into setting you up for success. It's hard to believe how much she is able to fit into just a 30 and 45 minute lesson! After each session, she encourages you practice every day, which is rather challenging as an adult. Thanks to Teruko's dedication, focus and ability to teach anyone at any level I was recently able to pass another RCM exam with a great success. I could not express more strongly how great she is as a piano teacher. Whether you are a beginner or a very advanced student, Teruko will push you to much higher level.”
