“This is a very fun rod to fish. I bought it in a 2wt and paired it with the Rio Technical Trout 2wt line. This rod lays that line down so lightly. I bought this for fishing small, slow creeks and streams where a perfect soft presentation is critical. This rod nails it out of the park.
I will second what was already mentioned about the timing. I feel like this rod sits closer to a medium on the medium-fast scale. If you throw a fast action rod all morning then pick this up for an afternoon hatch you will want to take a minute to slow do and recalibrate your cadence. It does not respond well to a fast swing. The slow action helps with the soft presentation and really makes the rod a joy to cast.
Slow down some afternoon with this rod and you will remember why you love to fly fish. You will be glad you did.”
