The Real Farm-acy: 5 Colors A Day to Better Health Book Reviews

5 Rating 2 Reviews
I was embarking on a personal health reboot - counting calories and taking notes from the scale - when Dr. Releford's book called to me. It’s such a compelling read that I finished it in just over day. The author, aptly known as “The Doctor and The Farmer,” wrote it after one of his patients (whose non-healing foot warranted a below-the-knee amputation) told him, calmly, "Dr. Releford, I'm keeping my leg." I was inspired by this man’s resolve, as well as what happened next: That Man Kept His Word and His Leg! You know how? He accepted Dr. Releford’s invitation to count colors, not calories. FIve of 'em in fact from Mother Earth’s bounty. As I read through the book, recipes included, I grew excited about shopping and cooking with "five colors a day." I also learned of Bloom Ranch, Los Angeles County’s largest Black-owned ranch (just over an hour from Los Angeles), the 5 Color a Day app, Casa Locé (Dr. Releford’s winery in Ojai, CA), and, most importantly, a path forward that I can sustain and enjoy. Please grab this book and then share it. It can save lives (not just feet). For real. For real.
