“Fantastic shorts - I was greased lightning in the pool, legs up high with easy hip rotation. The soft top part was long enough to prevent “plumbers butt” but they ran large in my opinion for my body size. I wear a 33” pant and measured my hips (at customer service recommendation) as 34” - above my hip bones and below my love handles. This is where I normally wear my jammers. I am 5’8” and 157-160lbs with a fit 66 year old body. The waist was spot on but the legs came halfway down my knees and were loose all the way around. Although designed as flared at the bottom, per the company, they felt “baggy” ie too long and loose. If I were say, 5’10” these could have been great. I returned them hoping to try the Mediums (with hope that the waist would still fit) but they were out of stock so I opted for a refund. The helpful person suggested that I inch the legs up higher above the knee and work the rest up to tighten the fit. Alas, although I could inch them above the knee I would have to pull the top up over my obliques (aka love handles) and the material is so substantial it did not work as the legs would push down again. So in the end - not right for me.”
“I bought these for pool swimming and it does make me faster. But I am reluctant to do flip turns as water does find a way in through the lower back. I also tested it in a lake and was quite happy it was much warmer than expected even though the water was only about 65 degrees. It made the lake experience quite fun as I was just hanging out with my son and wasn't really swimming.”
“These shorts work very well! It does its job well in keeping “heavy” legs up at the surface while swimming freestyle and backstroke. These shorts simulate a full wetsuit well. The shorts are durable and stand up to frequently chlorinated pool swims—when rinsed well after every swim (and occasionally hand washed in wetsuit shampoo).
My only suggestion for improvement is the waist band height. This version is a bit better than previous generations of buoyancy shorts—but still ride very low on the waist (much too low in my opinion). For next year’s design, please consider adding another 3/4” to 1” higher in the waistband. This should improve the fit greatly in the large size for most wearers.”
“This is my second pair of this style of lift short. After a long period of weekly training sessions the first pair is starting to breakdown. I have found these shorts to outlast any being sold on the market today.
The shorts add just enough lift to provide quality workouts. Two thumbs up”
“After three pairs of buoyancy shorts and six wetsuits, I can definitely say that these shorts gives me the best buoyancy support at the best spot. The thick neoprene placed towards the center (with the thinner parts to the outside) lifts my hips and legs and supports the body rotation. Great product!
They do fit very tight. I chose L, and even though I'm six feet and only 155 lbs, they fit perfectly. (But I don't want to gain 5 lbs...)”
