“I’m exactly 6ft and weigh 82kg. My gut said order the M but online reviews said weight is more important than height so I went for the ML as that’s what the charts said. It now feels too wide and I have water swishing around inside around my torso entering at the neck with each stroke when I lift my head to sight. Unfortunately, I can’t return it as I live in Bermuda. It’s not too bad and I’ll be fine as I only use it to make it through the winter months and not to race. So my recommendation would be, trust your instincts not just online reviews when picking a size.
Also my neck chafed badly during the first swim but now Vaseline solves that just fine.
I need the suit to keep me warm and it does that job perfectly.”
At 6'0 & ~180lbs (82kg) we would have recommended that you start with a size MT. The ML as you have experienced may work but has the possibility to feel too big. Also I must warn you against using vaseline on your suit. Petroleum based products such as Vaseline or Aquafor can damage the suit. I would recommend only using an anti-chafe product that is designed for these materials such as Body Glide, Trislide or similar.
