“I’ve been wearing the Originals 500 style for 30+ years and ordered this style assuming the fit and feel would be the same but just in a lace-up version. These are different, though - the fit is a bit more narrow and the leather is stiffer. The tongue is padded and made of synthetic material - not leather. I was thrown by all of this and considered returning them but I’m so glad I didn’t because I ended up loving them! They are still quite comfortable and rugged but offer a slightly more polished look that passes as “dressed up” if I’m wearing trousers.”
