When I was originally sized for the ring, the sales associates who worked with me did not warn me that the narrow metal sizers I used to determine my size would be a poor guage for a 5mm sized-ring, which is quite a bit thicker than the sizers. Minimal Internet research reveals that thicker rings require a slighly larger size, but this is something I didn't know walking into my purchase. I received a complimentary re-size, and went up a quarter size, but the difference is barely noticable, if at all.
The result is a snug ring, which bothered me initially, but after a couple weeks I have gotten more used to it, and see how in cold weather a more snug fit can be beneficial (a loose fit might come off quite easily when it's chilly). I may request another resize at some point, but will continue to stick with what I've got for now. All to say -- just be aware that the sizers aren't always the best guide.
Lots of people complain about scratching with palladium. Yes. The ring gets scratched, but this in my view just adds to the character. It's probably also true that scratches will blend in with a matte finish better than with a non-matte finish. In any case, embrace the scratches! Your life, your relationship, and your ring are undergoing changes all the time.”
