Brush On Block SPF 50 Brush + Refill Set Reviews

4.2 Rating 6 Reviews
I’m extremely disappointed with this product. The powder simply does not dispense into the bristles. No matter how much I flick, tap, or shake the wand, barely any product comes out. It almost feels like this formula would be better suited for a traditional loose powder canister (similar to how Bare Minerals used to package their foundation), because the current delivery system just doesn’t work. The only way I can imagine getting product out would be to tilt my head back and shake it directly over my face—which completely defeats the purpose of a convenient brush-on application. I purchased three wands (2 Touch of Tan and 1 SPF 50) and three respective refill canisters, so this was a significant investment. Unfortunately, all three wands have the same issue and barely dispense any product. I’ve watched multiple tutorials to make sure I’m using it correctly, but nothing has helped. Overall, this feels like a waste of money and a poorly designed product.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re genuinely sorry to hear this has been frustrating, especially after purchasing multiple brushes. What you’re describing is very uncommon for our brushes. Because the powder is finely milled, there is a short, simple “priming” step to get the flow started, but once activated, it should dispense evenly with light, consistent coverage. It definitely shouldn’t require excessive tapping or feel like a struggle to use. Since you mentioned that all three brushes are behaving the same way even after watching tutorials, we’d really love to connect with you directly. We’re happy to hop on a quick call or video chat at your convenience to walk through the priming process together and make sure everything is set up correctly. Often it’s just a small adjustment that makes an immediate difference. That said, we stand firmly behind the design and quality of our products. You’re well within our 30-day return window, and if we’re not able to get the brushes working to your satisfaction, we will absolutely make this right with a full refund for your purchase. We appreciate you giving Brush On Block a try and would truly welcome the chance to turn this experience around for you.

Honestly loving this. The color is flattering for my skin, I ADORE the design and flicking my wrist to bring the powder into the brush. How cool, what a fabulous idea. I don't apply right under my eyes because powder there accentuates texture, but I apply all over the rest of my face and I love it. My only remaining wondering is how many flicks to screen an entire face...

Love this product. I can carry it with me in my purse or on hikes for a quick application without the mess of a liquid sunscreen. I can reuse it as often as I want to even over makeup. I like the ease of application and having a refill available vs purchasing another brush. Highly recommend.

I prefer the 30 SPF. However, the formula changed and it irritates my skin. The 50 SPF works fine but the cost is too high.

I really like this product. It goes on easily, I feel it protects my face from the sun. I use the transparent formula. I have bought the 50 SPF several times now and also refills.

Feels so much better on the skin than a lotion or makeup with SPF. I would avoid using sunscreen on my face because I hated the greasy feeling and I would break out. I no longer do. I've used this twice while being outside all day, and haven't got sunburned. I wondered about if it was truly waterproof. However, I wear it on the backs of my hands, and you can see it repel water until you use soap. You may also wonder if that little amount will truly last long. I've used it on my face daily, and arms a couple times, for two weeks now. I still have approximately 3/4 of the jar left. To me it is worth the money for something I will actual use daily. Wish this was around when I was younger.
