“I am 6'5" 250lbs with long legs and struggled to find a comfortable office chair at a reasonable price. After trying other Big & Tall chairs from Amazon, Target, Staples, Office Depot and used office furniture stores I gave the BTOD Akir Chair a try. The adjustments and quality of this chair remind me of my Steelcase Leap XL chair. But, it has just a little more room that the Leap XL.”
“This thing is SOLID. Tall, deep seat (wish it were 2" deeper), comfy. The back tension is a bit aggressive at the bottom, and I wish the arms could go lower, but that's nit picking. Overall a great value.
Love the website! Super useful tips and reviews for shopping sight-unseen for expensive furniture items.”
“Replaced my old office chair with the BTOD Akir after reading various reviews. Assembly was easy, and the components are very solid (I'm about 200lbs). Casters roll great on my wood floor. I like the drop-away arms, and the cushion is comfortable (though it could be a tad softer). I didn't think I'd miss the headrest from my old chair, but now I'm thinking I might get the add-on one.
Certainly not a *perfect* chair, but for the *price* I am extremely happy with the value.”
“Great chair!! Very comfortable, I am a short male at only 5' 4" @ 155lbs and I fit very well in this chair with the short cylinder. I ordered mine with the drop away arms and that was a smart decision as I can move the chair comfortably close to my desk with them down. Love the array of adjustments this chair has to offer. You get a very high end chair at half the cost.”
“This a really great chair, much more supportive of my ailing back than my old executive chair was. Lots of adjustments to get it to the way I like it. My (45-year-old) daughter try it, and her immediate reaction was "Oh.My. God". I have to admit, though, getting used to sitting more upright took some time. The wheels are the best I've seen on an 'office' chair, in my admittedly minimal experience. I have medium-pile carpet in the room where the chair is, and this is the first chair that moves with relative ease over that carpet.
Setup is relatively straightforward, and the necessary bolts are well-marked in the blister pack. My only criticism is that I needed to use a socket wrench to tighten the bolts holding the seat back on to the seat. I don't know if there's some form of Lock-Tite in the sockets on the seat bottom or not (there didn't appear to be anything on the bolts themselves), but there was no way on this green earth I was going to get those bolts tightened with only the provided Allen wrench.”
