“I really wanted to love this chair ... i researched this purchase to death (since i was buying for my home office and was paying out of my wallet). As for the positives, the build quality and workmanship is top class .... it's heavy, sturdy, and well designed structurally (what you would expect from an $800 chair). The fit and finish of the leather is beautiful. The support of the lower back is fantastic (what I mainly needed). The adjustments for tilting back are great and i like that i can adjust the seat front to back as well. The lever mechanism is perfect.
There are however two major flaws that were pointed out on other reviews I've read that i didnt really think at the time would be that problematic but they are for me. The first is that the seat doesnt go down low enough. I am 6'2" with long legs and I still wish it went down another inch or so .. so that the back of my thighs arent bearing the full weight of my legs. I cant imagine a shorter person liking this chair. To counter this i put a raised mat below my feet ... would be nice if I didnt have to do this though. This leads into the second issue that's related to the first. I think the cushioning in the chair under the thighs is just a bit too firm and when sitting in the chair for hours on end it is not that comfortable on the back of thighs. I have an expensive Steelcase Gesture at work that I never have issues with .. i can sit in it for 8 hours and never feel stiff (granted its even more expensive ... too much for my wallet). In hindsight it might have been better to try the mesh seat instead of the padded leather ... I guess I will never know.
So buy this if you are tall and like a firm seat and you wont regret spending the money, otherwise you may want to look at other options.”
“I've had this chair for about a year and still find it one of the most comfortable in my home! It's in my home office so I will even sit in it to read on the weekend. I work long hours and have no problem. It has great adjustments and is very ergonomic. The seat shape and padding are excellent. Besides that, it is very durable and professional quality. The only downside might be that it is heavier than most, but I find that reassuring and worth it for the durability.”
