“After doing some research I took the advice of another CXO customer with about the same height/weight as myself (6'1", 250 lbs), and dished out a little extra for the heavy-duty model of the CXO since the size and dimensions are identical as the regular (6200D) model. I liked the idea of the extra strength components (steel plate under seat and inside arm rests, heavy duty gas lift, etc.) so it would be more maintenance-free and last longer. I am very happy with the chair, however there are a few things you should know if considering the HD model over the 6200D. The arm rests do not slide forward and backward like the non-HD chair, nor can you adjust the angle. I found no information about this anywhere despite doing quite a bit of research. Had I known, I might have opted for the regular chair. On the positive side, the arms are very sturdy and made to push your weight when getting up. They are comfortable, so I have no issues with them. Another difference is they are straight and not curved like the regular model. The pedestal on the HD is also different, not as stylish as the non-HD and not shaped to rest your foot. Lastly, it's a very heavy chair due to the extra parts built in, but that was expected. All in all, I do like this chair very much and am happy with the purchase. I expect it to last a long, long time.
Note: If you are under 6' 1", I probably wouldn't recommend this chair, as I have the gas lift all the way down and it just puts my legs at the right (90 degree) angle.”
