NewHeights Elegante XT Split Work Surface Electric Sit to Stand Desk w/ Voice Control Reviews

4.7 Rating 7 Reviews
It's so easy to change from standing height to sitting height, making the desk very flexible. I also really appreciate the split level desk, making the monitor viewing distance and keyboard reach much more effective and comfortable. Thanks for a great product!!

Id have hip/back issues and the standing work station is great in relieving pain from sitting. If I tire of standing, it's a snap to sit in a chair and lower the work surface. The adjustable angle of the keyboard surface minimizes wrist flexion.

I love this desk. I am very short and have not been able to get a chair high enough for normal height stands. This desk goes lower than most for keyboard. I have a timer on my computer that tells me when I need to take a break and then I switch to standing mode. It is VERY simple to use and have had no problems and many of my back problems from sitting at the computer or desk many hours everyday have cleared up. Adjustable heights are perfect. More surface space for papers and computer accessories. Couldn't ask for more.

I bought this desk as part of my job after reading all the problems with sitting down all day. I have always preferred having a separate level for my keyboard -- it helps with finding good ergonomic positions. But the prices of other split-surface sit-stand desks were much higher than this one. My only nitpick is the depth of the keyboard-surface. It's only about 10 inches, which is sufficient, even for my ergonomic keyboard, but it's not generous. Also I would prefer a curved, wrapping front edge. But everything else is/was very good. Ordering and delivery were straightforward. Assembly instructions were a bit confusing (but I think that's true of almost all furniture companies). The desk is very high quality. The motors work smoothly and quickly. I'm very happy with the purchase. DISCLAIMER: They promised me a $10 Starbucks card for writing this review :)

As an author who also owns a publishing business, I'm on my home computer many hours each day. I've had chronic pain in my lower back (as well as issues with my hip and shoulders) for years, which were exacerbated by all that sitting and hunching forward at the computer. So, I decided to check out adjustable desks. After much online research, I decided on the New Heights electric desk. Here's my report: The height adjusts quickly and smoothly at the press of a button, and the noise isn't very loud (I was worried my dogs would freak--they didn't). I will say that my husband, who is actually great at assembling things, had a rough time with this one; the instructions could be better. Once assembled, there was an issue with it not raising, so I emailed customer service. It was a Sunday, and I was pretty amazed to receive a return email including a cell phone number to call if I still had trouble (turned out the desk was not at fault--we had it plugged into a socket that depended on the light being on to be active, and once the circuit was broken, the electric height mechanism needed a reboot--using a different socket solved the issue). All in all, the desk is great, the customer service was great, and I could not be happier with my purchase. If you've got physical issues or want to prevent them, sure, the desk is somewhat expensive, but so is chiropractic and surgery. This is an investment in my health, and one I'm very happy I made. After working at the desk only a few days, I can already feel a difference.

New Office Purchase

We ordered 5 units for the office. We all are happy with the product. The buttons to adjust height are now electronic and are located on the left corner of the desk (in response to previous review). The drawback was that it took 2 guys several hours to put all 5 desks together...plan on about 2hrs for the 1st one...quicker on the subsequent ones once you figure out what you're doing. Competitor was double the price and would've taken 12 weeks to deliver

My only complaint is that the latch to lower and raise the work surface closest to the user is in the center. Where I sometimes brush it if I cross or uncross my legs. It would be great to have it moved to a better location.
