“This watch "disappears." It doesn't announce itself. When you look to see the time, it is there. Elegant, precise, and very good-looking. It is like the old pocket watch. You never see it until it's time to "see" it. And then you saw the time on a beautiful device.”

“I bought the Citizen Photon BJ6560-53W shortly after it was released, and after spending some real time wearing it, I can honestly say this watch has exceeded my expectations. The first thing that surprised me was the fit. The Super Titanium case and bracelet make the Photon incredibly light and comfortable on the wrist. It almost disappears when you’re wearing it, but visually it still has plenty of presence. Citizen did an excellent job balancing a substantial-looking watch with the comfort that titanium provides. One of my favorite features is something I initially thought the watch didn’t have: an easy way to fine-tune the bracelet fit. After playing with the clasp, I discovered that the bracelet can be adjusted simply by pushing it inward at the clasp. That small feature made a huge difference for me. Getting exactly the right bracelet fit is important, and being able to make a quick adjustment without tools is fantastic. I also really appreciate what Citizen did with the dial. Printing the Citizen and Eco-Drive text on the crystal was an unusual decision, and I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it until I saw the watch in person. Now I think it was a great design choice. It allows the two openings in the dial to remain clean and unobstructed so light can reach the Eco-Drive system, but it also creates a floating effect with the text. More importantly, it lets the dial itself remain the star of the show. The way light plays across it is one of the things that makes this watch special, and photographs really don’t capture the effect. The technology is also part of the appeal for me. I like that Citizen didn’t try to hide the fact that this is an Eco-Drive watch. The openings that allow light into the movement actually become part of the design. Form and function are working together rather than one being compromised for the other. After wearing the Photon, what stands out most is how complete the package feels. The titanium construction, excellent comfort, Eco-Drive technology, distinctive dial, bracelet adjustment and overall finishing make it feel like a watch that could easily command a higher price. There are watches that look impressive in photographs but become less interesting once you own them. For me, the Photon has been the opposite. The more I’ve worn it and discovered the little details, the more I’ve appreciated it. Citizen took some chances with this design, particularly with the crystal printing and dial construction. I’m glad they did. The Photon doesn’t feel like another variation of something we’ve already seen countless times. It’s distinctive, extremely comfortable, technologically interesting and genuinely enjoyable to wear. I’m absolutely loving mine.”

“Been waiting for this one and it does not disappoint. The dial looks more dark in real conditions than in press photos but comes alive when the light hits it right. It's very light without feeling cheap. I wish the bracelet was one-tone but that's just my preference. If you like the integrated sports watch vibe, this nails it and is certainly unique.”

“I saw the prototype at a watch show in the summer and was hooked. I bought one within the hour of receiving an email from Citizen of it availability. From the unique design, the celebration of solar technology, the changing colors of the dial, the lightness of the titanium and importantly the on the fly bracelet this watch is a great addition to my over 75 piece collection. One issue is the seconds hand does not land exactly on the second indicies on mine. I saw a review by Watchcris and the one he showed had the same issue. I’m living with it but if that bugs you, I’m sure you can return. Also free bracelet sizing is a great perk.”

“I’ve been waiting for this watch to be released and finally got one. Love the dial with its unique slitted faceplate that reflect the light in different tones at different viewing angles. The eco-drive has a light charging battery so that you never have to worry about having to change the battery. Overall a great watch like no other on the market”

“Already have a BJ6569-59X version of this as my 7th Citizen watch, but this version is conservative, a traditional looking watch plus reliable eco drive technology with radio control synchronization. Still great design and it'll be added to my rotation.”

“I really like this watches. I did a few times this and last week and I got compliments about it. I have other citizen watches, but this one must be nr1 citizen watch. I collect watches, I others more expensive like Omega, Breitlings, etc, but I found myself wearing this more in the last week. So, it's worth it.”
