Promaster Dive Automatic Reviews

A classic is always in style. The newly reimagined Promaster Dive Automatic men’s watch by Citizen goes deeper into the history of the original version of this diving watch that was released in 1989 for the new generation of dive watch enthusiasts. A design element that stands out is the distinctive, serrated bezel design that was inspired by a fugu, the Japanese name for pufferfish. Featuring a 3-piece, 44mm case, anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a two-tone silver- and gold-tone stainless steel case and bracelet, the dark blue rotating bezel with a gold-tone easy-grip aluminum ring surrounds the black dial and luminous hands and markers, while the case back features an engraving of a fugu or pufferfish. This technically advanced and stylish sport watch comes in an exclusive collector’s dive tank box and is ISO compliant with a screw-down crown and water resistant to 200 meters. Caliber 8204.

I wore this watch for almost a year, the winding stem was bent after a less than 2 foot drop. The watch has been in for repair for over 6 months. I received it back today with a repair charge higher than the price of the watch originally cost. I would stay away from this one. I purchased at Kay Jewelers, I don’t know if it was bad support from Kay or Citizen, either way I have an unusable watch.

This is my second Eco-Drive watch, they've always worked great. My first watch had a hard to read face especially in darker areas. I purchased this one for the easier to read date and day (just retired and find it helps to have a day reminder, too). The luminescent hands and number markers are great when its dark, it sometimes takes some concentration to read the time in daylight. The chunky hand conflicts slightly with the chunky markers for the numbers but overall a nice looking watch and serves the purpose.

I am a Citizen watch fan. I have 3 eco-drive's and I just bought this Promaster. What a gorgeous watch. It wears and shows like a Rolex except it is within the grasp of normal folks with normal incomes! The craftsmanship is superb. By far the easiest watch I have to set! If you like it. buy it. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

Great looking watch with all the desired features. My only complaint is that the watch is 18 seconds fast each day.

Overall an excellent time keeping machine and the appearance just superb very innovating design, very nice looking as well it was an excellent choice for a well deserve selfish gift I'm sure I will enjoy it for many years, it keeps accurate time, now my objections, crown positioning for me should be on the right side, the bracelet should be a bit heavier, stronger, but good enough not a complaint just suggestions, I'm very satisfied and happy I recommend it exellent working, great looking citizen sports diving watch. I'm a resident of the ocean state and my trade is building submarines just natural that I gravitate to a high quality well made watch Jorge⚓

Overall, this is a beautiful watch, and I’m quite pleased with its looks and accuracy. However, it does have a few minor issues, specifically with the bracelet. The gold IP coating on a few of the links was somehow damaged by the protective plastic film that covers the bracelet. Citizen was kind enough to replace the bracelet, but the replacement unfortunately had the same issues. The watch itself is great though, beautiful dial, good lume, no issues with bezel alignment, and the time keeping has been within -2 to -4 seconds a day. I do think I would recommend the non two-tone variants over this one though, as I’m not sure how well the IP coating will hold up, only time will tell.
