Ever wanted to try your hand at throwing clay on a potter's wheel but weren't sure if it's right for you? This two-hour Birmingham pottery class is the ideal introduction to this fun, meditative craft!

You'll get to grips with the basics of wheel throwing, from essential theory and practical considerations to the best way to prepare your clay to ensure a smooth end result. Following a detailed demonstration, it'll be your turn to strap on that apron, take to the wheel and start throwing your first pot!

Don't worry about any messy mishaps as your teacher will be on hand throughout the session to guide you towards your first amazing clay creation. At the end of the session, you will pick your best piece to be fired, glazed and ready to collect in 8 weeks' time. (The firing of 1 piece per person is included in the price while additional pots can be fired at a charge of £10 each)

Note that the class is taught in a group of 6 people unless it is a private session.

Great teacher, lots of opportunities to try different shapes, lots of support. Only downside I can see for the Vyse St venue is it's up lots of narrow steps. Thoroughly recommend!

Great class, bought as a birthday present. Came for some fun and left with a new hobby. Had an excellent patient teacher and came away with real pots. Absolutely loved the experience.
