This is a fun activity in Biggleswade, Stevenage

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague one-to-one and ask any questions you have about your sewing machine! Need help setting up your new machine? Want to learn about how to use certain tools and accessories? Getting stuck on a certain technique? Our craft expert will share tips and advice tailored to you.

This is suitable for beginners looking to get started in sewing, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need. It’s a great way to get a feel for your sewing machine, troubleshoot any problems you’re having with your current project in an easy, direct way or learn about features you’re not as confident with yet.

During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Colleague know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.

You’re sure to walk away a sewing pro, ready to take your designs to a new level!

*Please note that your workshop host will only have access to sewing machines that are currently stocked in Hobbycraft stores.

**Children 12 years and over can book onto this workshop but please note all children under the age of 18 will need parental/guardian supervision for the duration of the workshop.

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Keeping everyone safe
At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

My daughter learned so much today, as did I whilst watching. It's really helped build her confidence in using her new machine

Dan taught me the basics to sewing with a machine. Including loading a bobbin and the dials of the machine. He took on board that I was a total beginner and showed me how using a machine would speed up my manual quilt making and sewing. I found the shop, parked outside and the workshop started on time. He listened to my objectives and answered them. I found the shop had a great layout. It was tidy and well labelled. Dan was a great teacher and enthusiastic. Hobbycraft run good workshops showing different machines. Thank you

My teacher, Sally, was really friendly and helpful. She showed me how to set up a sewing machine and was completely non-judgemental with my lack of knowledge. She was happy to repeat steps when I needed it and showed me different types of loading for bobbins. I now feel really confident to start a project at home
