Get hooked on crochet with our beginner’s tutorial! Enjoy this relaxing craft as you get to grips with the simple skills you’ll need to stitch beautiful designs, with one of our craft experts on hand to guide you through the steps.

This workshop provides a wonderful introduction to the world of crochet, perfect if you’re a complete beginner. Through the course of the workshop, you’ll learn double stitch and treble stitch. You’ll also be shown how to create a chain, working in rows to create a tension square.

Sam was my crotchet tutor. She is so patient and helped me to hold the hook/yarn correctly. I was amazed at the progress I made. I would recommend the 1 to 1 lesson with Sam. I will go away to practice and definitely book another lesson with Hobbycraft to be able to progress with more difficult stitches. Thank you Sam x

My teacher was Sam. She was at Orpington branch. She was excellent. Very patient and explained everything really clearly. I really enjoyed it. A great way to spend a Saturday morning.

I really enjoyed the session as it helped me to gain some crochet skills and knowledge. I made some granny squares as I needed them for a blanket that I was making for my friend. The teacher was amazing as she was patient with both myself and another lady and she is so inspiring and love her crochet work.

Val was a great teacher, friendly and engaging. I managed to practice a couple of stitches and learn how to start off a peice and even get basic information on how to read a simple pattern. Looking forward to building on those skills.

Our teacher Val was really good, patient, easy to understand. It was a small group which was very beneficial as we all got a group tutorial plus 1-2-1 when needed. As a left handed person I was concerned I wouldn't be able to crochet but I made 2 bookmarks! Now I just need to keep practising!
