Get hooked on crochet with our beginner’s tutorial! Enjoy this relaxing craft as you get to grips with the simple skills you’ll need to stitch beautiful designs, with one of our craft experts on hand to guide you through the steps.

This workshop provides a wonderful introduction to the world of crochet, perfect if you’re a complete beginner. Through the course of the workshop, you’ll learn double stitch and treble stitch. You’ll also be shown how to create a chain, working in rows to create a tension square.

You’ll have a craft kit included, ensuring you’ve got the yarn and hook you need. It’s a great opportunity to pick up techniques you can then put into practice when you move on to other patterns.

Throughout the tutorial, you will be able to ask any crochet questions you may have.

Penny was really lovely. I arrived 10 minutes late because of traffic but I still felt welcome when I got there and she checked to make sure I could do what was needed to catch up. A really enjoyable lesson, I just wish it could have been longer.

Absolutely loved the class! The class includes a crochet hook and yarn to practise the crochet stitches! Sam was brilliant, patient and took the time to answer questions as we went through the lesson. We learnt the slip knot, chain stitch and double crochet! We even learnt a bonus treble crochet! Will definitely sign up for the next class up to build my confidence!

Wonderful small group teaching with Sam who was patient, kind, friendly and very helpful. I’ve definitely got the crochet bug! She was also so encouraging and supportive of my young daughter who was learning for the first time. Highly recommend. Thank you! Ps please can the owners turn on the heating in the store! It was very cold.

Sam was great, she was so patient, kind and such a joy to be around and have as a teacher. We learned how to crotchet and I left feeling happy as this is something I really wanted to learn and like I accomplished something since it was a bit tricky to get it right. Highly recommend coming to the Orpington branch just for Sam!
