Xiao Long Bao are small, elegant dumplings filled with savoury pork and rich, fragrant soup. Yes — real soup — wrapped carefully inside delicate dough.

A Relaxed & Skill-Building Dim Sum Experience
In this welcoming small-group class, you’ll learn every step of making authentic Shanghai-style soup dumplings — from preparing the dough and flavourful soup filling to expertly pleating and steaming.

Don’t worry if you’re new to cooking. We guide you patiently, step by step, in our spacious, air-conditioned studio. Weekday bookings are often quieter and sometimes feel like a private lesson.

This class is calm, detailed and incredibly rewarding.

In This Class, You Will Learn To:
- Prepare dumpling dough from scratch
- Create the savoury soup filling
- Wrap and pleat Xiao Long Bao properly
- Steam them to perfection
- Eat them without losing the soup (this is also a skill!)

Important Booking Information
- Price is per person. Each attendee must hold a valid ticket.
- This is an adult-only class (18+).
- Outside food and drinks are not permitted.
- Class duration is an estimate and may vary depending on group size.
No Refund Policy
All bookings are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another adult (18+). Please notify us in advance with the new attendee’s name.
Rescheduling
If you need to reschedule your booking, a £50 fee per person applies. Reschedule requests must be made at least 7 days before your scheduled class date.
Arrival & Punctuality
Classes begin promptly. A 15-minute grace period is provided. If you arrive more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time, we may not be able to admit you and your booking will be forfeited.
Health & Safety Policy
- For the safety of all guests and in line with UK food hygiene guidance, anyone experiencing vomiting, diarrhoea, or similar symptoms must be symptom-free for at least 48 hours before attending the class
- Guests may be asked to confirm this upon arrival
- We reserve the right to refuse entry if this requirement is not met

Really fun class. Hannah was very accomadating in our rpivate class and very patient with me making the same istakes over and over agin! Learned a lot and have the confidence in how to make Xiao Long Bao now. Would highly reccomend.

Hanna was a fantastic teacher: incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely generous with everything she knows. The class focused on making xiao long bao by hand, and her instructions were clear, encouraging, and really well paced, perfect whether you’re a complete beginner or not. I definitely am! Basically booked it for my boyfriends birthday who’s favourite food is xiao long bao! What made it extra special was how she went beyond just the technique. She shared the history behind xiao long bao like where it originated and the story behind it which naturally spilled into some broader cultural context too. She even taught us how to write xiao long bao in Chinese characters, which was such a fun, unexpected touch. We left feeling like we’d genuinely learned something, not just followed a recipe. If you’re looking for a cooking class that’s warm, educational, and memorable, look no further. We’ll definitely be booking with Hanna again!

I have always wanted to learn how to make xiao long bao, and here I am, thanks to Hanna’s help. The cooking session was very personalised and fun. Hanna knows a lot about the history of xiao long bao, as well as many tips for making the best ones. We used fresh ingredients, which made the quality much better and were very easy to find. I am excited to put into practice what I learned. My next class will be the three-ways bun class, and I am really looking forward to learning how to make them—and, of course, having Hanna as my teacher again.

We had an a wonderful afternoon at Simon and Hanna’s Foodie Kitchen, learning the inns and outs of making Xiao Long Bao from scratch. Simon and Hanna were both such thorough and friendly hosts who had a wealth of knowledge and experience to share. They have a wonderful kitchen classroom to do classes and they made us feel so welcome. I couldn’t recommend them enough! We will definitely be back for another class in the future.

Such a fun class! We did a private class and our teachers were so friendly and attentive to our dumpling-making. We got to eat 24 delicious dumplings as part of the class. Would defo recommend!
