Interested in learning modern calligraphy? Then try this beginner-friendly class in central London and start your beautiful lettering art journey with Tea and Crafting!

Modern calligraphy is a meditative activity and a soothing form of creative escapism, it also allows you to create beautiful artwork to display at home or share with friends and loved ones. Its not to be rushed, and we've allowed more time in this workshop so that you really relax and enjoy the process of taking time of your busy schedule and spend 2.5 hours in total bliss.

You will learn, using a dip pen and ink, to draw the basic strokes and link them together to form lower case letters and then words. You will walk away knowing how to write a beautiful modern script. This class is suitable for all beginners and is a wonderful way to learn a new skill that is both creative and relaxing. Nice handwriting and artistic talent not required.

Guided by your talented teacher Anthea, you'll walk away from this calligraphy class with loads of inspiration and some future DIY projects up your sleeve!

“I had such a great time at the Modern Calligraphy workshop with Anthea! She’s a wonderful instructor who explained everything -from pens and nibs to inks and paper - so clearly. You can tell she’s truly passionate about calligraphy, and it really shines through in her teaching. The space was lovely and cozy, and the small group size made it easy to ask questions and get hands-on help. It was a fun, rewarding experience and much harder (and more satisfying!) than it looks. If you’re considering a workshop, I’d definitely recommend taking this one with Anthea!”

“I had such a fantastic time at this calligraphy class! The teacher was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also a lovely person who made the session both informative and engaging. She took the time to go around and help each of us individually, offering invaluable tips on mixing inks and perfecting our grip—things I would never have picked up from a book or video. If you’re into anything crafty, I highly recommend this class. I’ll definitely be back for another creative session!”

“The class was wonderful, the teacher Anthea was wonderful - skilled, patient and full of good energy :) We immediately dropped into flow state and by the end were getting great results! Also you get to take the materials away with you so you can immediately put what you learned into practice without having to buy loads of extra kit!”
