“Don’t go. Waste of money. If I could give no stars, I would. I was deeply disappointed with this studio, their customer service and the quality of paints and glazing process used. Generally the place is cold and uninviting. From the outside, it looked closed as they just have the metal shutter in place of a proper entrance. Inside is not much better and lacks a warm welcome. I began to have doubts... Customer service: From the start, the customer service was appalling. The place is a ghost town and there were no staff at the entrance to warmly welcome you. Once they gave the instructions, which were rushed through, the person disappeared and then you are left to your own devices to work out what you want to do and how to use the paints. If you needed any help, you would have to find a person first! We were rushed at the end as the experience is 1.5 hours long and you are not allowed to go over the time limit or paint more pieces (lucky escape!), even though there were no other customers. Quality: The paints all seem watered down. Their colour wheel shows three levels to achieve a depth of colour, which seems unattainable when the paints seem watered down and exceptionally rough when used. Glazing process: Upon returning to collect the pieces, they seemed to be unevenly glazed, the surfaces of the pottery were rough in some places but smooth in others, and looked like the pieces were not fully glazed consistently. I could even scrape the paint off one of the mug handles which only had two coats of paint (so in theory, should have been perfectly glazed, according to the studio) but still appeared unglazed. When I emailed to complain, I was informed that it was my own fault and that we were instructed on the day to only paint two coats and instructions were on the table. First, no such instruction was given or available on the table and second, the colour wheel showed three levels of colour so that's a contradiction! They accept absolutely no liability for anything and claims it is completely the fault of the painter. And finally, this place is not suitable for anyone with mobility needs. The entrance is essentially a closed metal shutter which means you have to step over the base of the narrow door to get in and the pottery painting is located upstairs. I do not recommend this studio and I would strongly advise avoiding this place. If you want more honest reviews, check them out on Tripadvisor. I wish I had done that before booking. What a waste of a gift token.”

“We arrived (admittedly late) and they checked we had a booking, and told us to go upstairs. I went up thinking staff would be upstairs, there was nobody. I put 2+2 together by observing what others were doing, and read the details on the page, so I had an idea of how it worked. We all painted multiple pieces which was difficult as the paint was watered down. Come time to wrap up, we’re told only certain things were included in the price. The website says your first piece is included in the price and anything else is £5 extra. The staff proceeded to argue with us. She insisted she spoke to us and explained but this was our first time speaking with her. We went back and forth for ages until another staff came and told her to charge us only for our extra pieces. Bad experience all around for several reasons. Save your money.”

“Went with a friend and we had a fun time getting creative. The relaxed atmosphere was great for a casual catch-up. However, it’s worth noting that this isn’t really a “class” as advertised. There was no instructor or guidance, just someone to welcome us and show us to the room. If you’re expecting to learn techniques or get any teaching, you might be disappointed. I think it would be clearer to call it “Self Pottery Painting” to avoid any misunderstanding. Still, it’s a fun, laid-back activity if you’re happy to paint freely without instruction.”

“We were given a super basic crash course, and then there was no one around to help us if we had any questions or needed any support. I have been to other pottery painting before and there were people around and who wanted to help, so just thought it was a bit bizarre. We still had fun, but wouldn’t recommend and won’t be going back.”
