This is a fun activity in Shenley Wood, Milton Keynes

Whether you've always wanted to experiment with oils or you're developing your painting skills, this intimate art class for groups of one or two is the place to discover your inner artist and come away with your very own painted landscape.

Your guide on this art adventure is retired surgeon and passionate art lover, Robin. He will guide you from start to finish as you plan your composition and understand the paint, media and equipment. With his belief that "you can't make a mistake in oil painting", you will have the freedom to let your creativity flow and be amazed at what you can create.

Robin will be by your side, providing instruction on colour, mood, and structure. He will offer support, advice and encouragement as you unwind in his 17th-century studio in the Westbury Arts Centre Milton Keynes.

“We had an amazing experience with Robin! It was the first time my husband and I had ever tried oil painting, and we had zero experience coming in. Robin was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and explained the whole process clearly. Having all the colours prepped for us made starting so much easier. Whenever we got stuck, Robin was right there with great advice on how to fix things and keep going. He even kindly helped us carry our paintings to the car at the end! We honestly couldn't believe we managed to finish a full painting in just three hours. We're both so pleased with the results. Highly recommended!”

“My art class with Robin was excellent, highly recommended! Westbury Arts is a beautiful building, and Robin’s studio is packed full of his stunning paintings, which I found inspiring for my lesson. The 3 hours flew by, and I was thrilled with my painting. I have only painted with oils once before, so the one-on-one teaching was really helpful, and I learnt loads of techniques and appreciated the guidance. As a beginner, I was a little nervous, but the session really boosted my confidence with my painting. I also thoroughly enjoyed the music that Robin chose and the cup of tea. A great experience and excellent value!”

“What a wonderful and relaxing afternoon we had with Robin! My husband and I were looking for a creative escape, and Robin's studio provided the perfect setting, it's so cozy and tranquil. Robin himself is a fantastic teacher. He has a calm and encouraging demeanor, and he shared some great tips that made the process so much more enjoyable. He was especially helpful with guiding us on our color palettes, which made a huge difference. The time just flew by! We can't recommend this experience enough and are already looking forward to our next visit.”

“I have experience in Art but I have never worked in Oils before so this was a great opportunity to try them out. Robin was so welcoming and he made me feel comfortable straight away! He taught me lots about the medium and I was so pleased with what I was able to achieve within just one lesson! I will definitely be going back to finish off my painting and add the details.
