This is a fun activity in Earlsfield, London

Fall in love with crochet by creating a classic granny square! You’ll be able to combine beautiful colours to stitch this traditional crochet design, perfect for setting you up for so many other projects. Granny squares can be used to make blankets, garments and more – we’re here to help you get started with your first one.

With the help of an Hobbycraft Artisan, you’ll learn how to crochet a granny square by using all the key techniques. You’ll use double and treble stitches, as well as learning how to decipher a granny square pattern and how to change yarn colours.

There’s a kit included with the workshop to give you everything you need for the project. Within the 90-minute session, you’ll be able to create one granny square, though you can continue to practice making more once you’ve got to grips with all the skills. The kit even features a pattern for a granny square blanket to help you continue your adventure in crochet!

This workshop is the perfect way to grow your crochet confidence, with tips and support from a pro! It’s ideal if you already have basic knowledge of the stitches but are looking to refresh yourself or develop further.

This class is great to build your confidence but you definitely need to be able to do the required crochet stitches as the pace is quite quick. Its great that you get all the supplies you need and the printed out instructions are useful.

Amazing class - Jacqui is such a wonderful teacher and is really approachable. She makes the class really fun and creates a wonderful learning environment. we’ve now learned so much in just 2 classes, and will definitely be back for more! I also love the Wimbledon hobbycraft due to its wheelchair accessibility, and how kind the staff are!
