This is a fun activity in Stoke-on-Trent

Whether you've been watching The Pottery Throw Down or you're just keen to learn something new, this throwing lesson will be perfect for you! You will be sure to not only have great fun but come away with some amazing pieces, too.

The classes are run by trained potter and teacher Mathew Dimbleby in his ceramics studio. Under his expert guidance, you'll learn how to transform clay into a variety of useful and beautiful items while getting to grips with the soothing art of wheel throwing.

There are three different beginner throwing classes to choose from: ramen bowl or set of dipping bowls; pinch jug or ring holder; mini plant pot or handleless mug. As well as Father's Day specials! Use the date selector to see availability or request a private class.

“My husband and I booked on this class as a way to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary (20 years = china!). Neither my husband or I are particularly creative and so I confess to being slightly apprehensive about the lesson. However, we needn't have worried as Matthew's teaching approach is excellent and we had an informative and fun session with each of us creating 2 pots each. Highly recommend to all!”

“We loved our 2 hour session with Matt and there were 5 wheels booked, so it was the perfect class size. Matt was a very patient and engaging teacher, and he pitched everything at the right level for the group’s experience. Coffee and cake from the cafe downstairs was delicious too! We wouldn’t hesitate to book again in future. Thank you!”

“Absolutely brilliant class, I was amazed at what we managed to produce by the end of the two hours. Fantastic teacher, who gave us the right amount of input to be able to do it but also left us to our own devices. Being able to add colour at the end was an unexpected treat! Highly recommended.”
