This is a fun activity in Chelmsford

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague in store for a One-to-one and ask any questions you have about crochet. Stuck on a project? Need help with understanding a pattern? Trying to get to grips with a new stitch? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for crocheters looking for that next step on from our Beginners' Workshops, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need. It’s a great way to gain confidence with your craft, troubleshoot any problems you’re having with your current project in an easy, direct way or learn about stitches you’re not as confident with yet.

During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Artisan know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.

You’re sure to walk away a crochet pro, ready to take your designs to a new level!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Keeping everyone safe
At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

“The session was for my 11 year old grandaughte (Izzy) who had a brilliant time with the teacher. She had already self taught herself some crochet but needed to learn correct techniques and the lesson was very successful in this respect. The teacher explained everything Izzy asked very clearly and boosted her confidence. They got on very well at a personal level and Izzy has already asked about seeing her again when she needs furher assistance.”

“Very informative excellent crochet lesson! Lisa explained everything very well, gave me a few helpful tips to make edges neater, changing colour, inc and dec stitches, helped me understand pattern terminology and difference between US and UK and how to count stitches which I was struggling with. I would highly recommend if new to crochet. I took a couple of samples of my work so she could advise me what I was doing right and wrong!”

“Very friendly knowledgeable and patient teacher. She taught me the correct way to hold the work and use the needle (as a knitter I was used to holding the needle as if I was knitting. I loved her balance of demonstrating and letting me do it myself.”
