This is a fun activity in London Bridge, London

Just a two-minute walk from London Bridge station, discover the calming joy of pottery at Maison S.Sommet.

Perfect for complete beginners, this relaxed 2-hour wheel throwing class is a chance to unwind, get messy and create your own functional ceramics in our warm and welcoming studio. Guided step by step by our expert teachers, you'll learn the foundations of wheel throwing before making your own cup, bowl or ceramic vessel. Even complete beginners are often surprised by what they create in a single session.

We provide everything you need including unlimited clay, tools and aprons — just dress comfortably and trim your nails beforehand for the best experience. The studio is fully air conditioned, so it stays comfortable whatever the weather is doing outside.

At the end of the session, choose your favourite pieces to be professionally glazed and kiln-fired in either our signature Cobalt Blue or Clear stoneware glaze, for £10 per piece. Finished ceramics are food-safe, microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe, and are usually ready for collection within 4-5 weeks.

Perfect for date nights, birthdays, friends or solo creatives looking to try something new in London. Bring your own favourite drinks along to top off the experience.

Clay, music, good company and your new favourite mug.

“This is a such a nice way to spend 2hours or so and well worth the money. So therapeutic and extremely well paced. not too much talking and largely just left to be creative and crack on with pot making. loved it”

“I went there with my boyfriend on our anniversary, and absolutely loved it! Our instructor, Tanvi, was very lovely girl, she was explaining everything with lots of jokes and was suuper patient with us Without her I would be stressing out a lot. It overwhelmed my expectations, because I wasn’t sure if I can make something beautiful, but Tanvi told us that even an accidentally thrown piece of clay can be an art so I was full of confidence in the final. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking was some fun activities with your friends, partner or even by yourself, you won’t be feeling lonely, we felt as a part of the artistic family! We made the way for more than an hour from our house to there, but it was 100% worth it:)”

“Teacher Jess was lovely, very supportive and kept coming around to help and advise. After being shown how to centre the clay then was left to create what we wanted from vases to bowls. The spinning wheel was temperamental so this caused a few issues. The venue wasn't the easiest to find about 40min bus ride from London”

“I had a lovely time, the workshop host was very nice and patient, and she had clear instructions. On the site, I just wished it said you still pay to keep the projects you make, even if you choose not to glaze them. Otherwise, everything was perfect!”
