This is a fun activity in London Bridge, London

Just a two-minute walk from London Bridge station, discover the calming joy of pottery at Maison S.Sommet.

Perfect for complete beginners, this relaxed 2-hour wheel throwing class is a chance to unwind, get messy and create your own functional ceramics in our warm and welcoming studio. Guided step by step by our expert teachers, you'll learn the foundations of wheel throwing before making your own cup, bowl or ceramic vessel. Even complete beginners are often surprised by what they create in a single session.

We provide everything you need including unlimited clay, tools and aprons — just dress comfortably and trim your nails beforehand for the best experience. The studio is fully air conditioned, so it stays comfortable whatever the weather is doing outside.

At the end of the session, choose your favourite pieces to be professionally glazed and kiln-fired in either our signature Cobalt Blue or Clear stoneware glaze, for £10 per piece. Finished ceramics are food-safe, microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe, and are usually ready for collection within 4-5 weeks.

Perfect for date nights, birthdays, friends or solo creatives looking to try something new in London. Bring your own favourite drinks along to top off the experience.

Clay, music, good company and your new favourite mug.

“This activity was a lot of fun. I think the teacher’s name was Anita and she was very helpful. She spent some time talking through the process and how the class was going to go then let us get to it. Came round and helped where it was needed and gave suggestions when I was stuck on ideas. This was a lot of fun and would recommend to anyone willing to get their hands dirty”

“The teacher was nice, helpful, funny and friendly. You have plenty material to play around until you get a piece you like. You can buy as many pieces as you want and even use two portions of material to create a bigger piece and then get it fired for £10. THE ONLY PROBLEM is the location. It's a very rough area and it's not close to any public transport, so you need to walk through some dodgy parts or take an uber.”

“The teach was fantastic, she gave a really simple and easy to understand demonstration and then just let us get on with having a go while she walked around the room offering advice - perfect!”
