This is a fun activity in London Bridge, London

Just a two-minute walk from London Bridge station, discover the calming joy of pottery at Maison S.Sommet.

Perfect for complete beginners, this relaxed 2-hour wheel throwing class is a chance to unwind, get messy and create your own functional ceramics in our warm and welcoming studio. Guided step by step by our expert teachers, you'll learn the foundations of wheel throwing before making your own cup, bowl or ceramic vessel. Even complete beginners are often surprised by what they create in a single session.

We provide everything you need including unlimited clay, tools and aprons — just dress comfortably and trim your nails beforehand for the best experience. The studio is fully air conditioned, so it stays comfortable whatever the weather is doing outside.

At the end of the session, choose your favourite pieces to be professionally glazed and kiln-fired in either our signature Cobalt Blue or Clear stoneware glaze, for £10 per piece. Finished ceramics are food-safe, microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe, and are usually ready for collection within 4-5 weeks.

Perfect for date nights, birthdays, friends or solo creatives looking to try something new in London. Bring your own favourite drinks along to top off the experience.

Clay, music, good company and your new favourite mug.

“Really easy, relaxed, encouraging environment with a teacher who was excellent in every way. A great way to discover a new talent or failing that, just to have a laugh. I have absolutely no experience or artistic talent and I came away with two things I wanted to keep - a genuine bonus.”

“I had a great time at my class! The teacher gave a short but detailed demo of everything we needed to know to get started and we was able to get stuck in straight away. There was plenty of time to create rather than having too much talking which some classes can be. The teacher came around to everyone throughout and helped if needed and was super knowledgable. I had a great time, made a few pieces I was able to keep and would love to come back! Thank you so much.”

“Good intro to pottery. Good studio/environment and equipment. Informative tutor. Only downsides are: the location of the studio is in the middle of nowhere and takes long to get to; 15 mins at the start of the session and 15 mins at the end of the session are lost to setup and cleaning up.”

“Had so much fun, the teacher was very patient and attentive, she worked her way around the class and helped us to make some fun designs. Would highly recommend, for those who were slightly better, she pushed them using trickier techniques.”

“Attentive and talented instructor who was very patient despite us needing lots of clay top ups! Went on a "date night" which was perfect, super fun and managed to make a few little things (if imperfect!) that we will treasure.”
