This was an excellent class ! Daniel was very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgable as well as being a very good teacher. I particularly enjoyed the film development and printing process, but Daniel also gave me some very good guidance on shooting pictures with a fully manual camera and I am looking forward to getting out and putting his advice into practice. A lovely experience !

Excellent experience. I took my 11 year old son and his friend to this class as he is interested in photography. The class started with the basic operation of the cameras and some hints on composition. As with the rest of the class this was very hands-on and Daniel was great at helping the two boys get to grips with the cameras. We moved on to taking some photos, initially with some guidance from Daniel, but were soon let loose to take pictures on our own. Upon our return we moved to the dark room. The ‘hands on’ approach continued as Daniel took us through the process of developing the films, which was explained clearly. With the developed films, we started generating the prints. It was fantastic to see the photos we had only taken a couple of hours earlier appearing. As ever, Daniel was great with the boys and allowed them to get fully involved in the process. The finished photos looked great too. An excellent experience with a great teacher that I can’t recommend highly enough.

Daniel was a brilliant teacher and went above and beyond to treat me and my partner to an unforgettable photographic experience. Communication ahead of the day was excellent, and when we arrived Daniel provided us with high-quality Pentax cameras and Ilford film – together with a thorough tutorial helping us understand (finally) how to balance aperture and shutter speed in light of the ISO used, as well as the basics of composition. Having been let loose for an hour to take our pictures, we then returned for a truly illuminating and hands-on afternoon in the dark room selecting and developing half a dozen large prints – with Daniel being kind (or unwise!) enough to let us run the process solo for the last couple. Overall it was a wonderful day – and we were particularly happy we went for the full six-hour photography and darkroom experience (excellent value at the price), given that we got to take home several memorable pictures which we composed, shot and developed ourselves. Thoroughly recommended to anyone with even a passing interest in photography – thank you again Daniel!

After being gifted this experience for Christmas we were able to coordinate to take part in this experience. Daniel was great - understanding, articulate, and very knowledgeable on all things to do with photography and the dark room. With one of us having some experience, and the other having none, he was able to cater to both of us creating an inviting and welcoming space to learn and have fun with photography. Could not reccommend more.

The class was very good. I learnt a lot about cameras and functions and how to take the best photographs. Dan was an enthusiastic, good and easy to get along with teacher. The whole day flew by. The process of developing your own images was magical. And the images I went away with were inspiring. I would recommend this class to anyone and getting it as a gift as even better. Easy to use my gift card in the site. Really pleased with my choice of class.

We absolutely loved this workshop. Daniel was a superb teacher - really friendly, clear and full of interesting information. I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone with an interest in film photography, even if you are less experienced - Daniel explains everything really thoroughly and helps you hit the ground running. This is one of the best things my husband and I have done together recently, and we are delighted with the photographs we took!
