What actually happens on the course?
*Louise will introduce you to this amazing material, silver clay and will explain how the clay becomes solid silver pieces of beautiful jewellery by the end of your course.
*She has moulds and ideas for creating wonderful designs from the clay.
*Louise will then show you how to fire your piece. This process removes particles in the clay to leave a 99.9% solid silver piece.
*You will then polish to finish your creation. This whole process never ceases to amaze people, transforming a piece of silver clay into a final polished 99.9% solid silver jewellery piece for you to show off with pride.
What is silver clay?
*An environmentally-friendly recycled product, which when fired, becomes 99.9% solid silver of hallmark quality.
*Recycled from goods containing silver such as mobile phones and x-rays
*The silver is mixed with a binding compound to make a clay substance
*The clay is flexible and can be shaped into various designs
*The firing process burns off the binding compound to leave 99.9% solid silver of hallmark quality
