Immerse yourself in the world of resin art with this captivating workshop in Torquay. In this resin art class, you will learn how to work with heat-resistant epoxy resin to create stunning and unique pieces such as coasters, trays, lazy Susans, cheeseboards, wine glasses and antipasti boards. Using a wonderful selection of mica powders, metallic pigments, epoxy paste, and glitters, you'll have the freedom to customise your designs with vibrant colours and shimmering effects.

No need to worry if you're new to resin art – this workshop is designed with beginners in mind. With my expert tuition, I'll guide you through the basics of using epoxy resin, including how to determine the right amount to use, how to mix it correctly, and how to create beautiful resin colours without any extra bubbles. I'll even share my techniques for painting the edges of your coasters.

Not only is epoxy resin a versatile and exciting medium to work with, but it also offers the opportunity to relieve stress, cultivate resilience, and enhance your overall well-being through creative expression. Plus, the resin used in this workshop is low odour, non-toxic, and free from dangerous solvents, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with the knowledge and confidence to continue creating your own resin art at home. Whether you want to explore resin art as a hobby or even start your own business, this workshop is a fantastic starting point.

“Maria is an absolute inspiration! Scintillating and fascinating artist with a wonderfully youthful active mind and a passionate enthusiasm, who gives such a comprehensive and detailed introduction and explanation of resin art. The resin and curing agent were mixed after we had selected a choice of mica colourants, which were added and blended individually in respective proportions of resin (one for each of the colours this time), giving us all the 'finished' ingredients ready for the pouring processes into the moulds. Seeing the colours work harmoniously and in contrast was such a brilliant initial experience with this artform, and knowing that would continue through the curing process added intrigue before we could collect the finished pieces. . We were expertly guided and supported through all stages and continued to shape the colour interactions in the poured resin, before we finally left our work to cure. This was all in the first workshop and we learned that there are two further stages which can be explored at later dates. Maria has a magnificent studio and there's such a range of her artwork on different media displayed, moving through to incredibly creative and brilliant work for those fortunate enough to attend her workshops. Her acrylic artwork is exceptional too and more inspirational and beautiful pieces adorn her studio and stairways along the way. An enthralling, talented and gifted artist; Maria effortlessly imparts such a desire to learn and practice more resin art and go further into the world of fluid arts she enthralls and excels in. An absolute must for all interested, aspiring and creative artists at all levels of proficiency to experience and learn from. Not to be missed!”

“What a great workshop. Maria Alice was warm and welcoming with such a wealth of knowledge. As someone who is more practical than artistic, I felt encouraged and able to create something attractive as a first step on this ‘resin journey’ and left with sufficient skills and helpful worksheets to go on to continue making items at home. Would highly recommend this course with Maria Alice.”
