This is a fun activity in Chesterfield, Sheffield

Fall in love with crochet by creating a classic granny square! You’ll be able to combine beautiful colours to stitch this traditional crochet design, perfect for setting you up for so many other projects. Granny squares can be used to make blankets, garments and more – we’re here to help you get started with your first one.

With the help of an Hobbycraft Artisan, you’ll learn how to crochet a granny square by using all the key techniques. You’ll use double and treble stitches, as well as learning how to decipher a granny square pattern and how to change yarn colours.

There’s a kit included with the workshop to give you everything you need for the project. Within the 90-minute session, you’ll be able to create one granny square, though you can continue to practice making more once you’ve got to grips with all the skills. The kit even features a pattern for a granny square blanket to help you continue your adventure in crochet!

This workshop is the perfect way to grow your crochet confidence, with tips and support from a pro! It’s ideal if you already have basic knowledge of the stitches but are looking to refresh yourself or develop further.

Teacher was excellent. Very patient. Well organised. Easy to book. Good value for money. The cotton yarn split easily making it more difficult to use. That’s why I’ve knocked a star off.

Reached the dizzy age of 71 without being able to crochet. Well Sharon put an end to that she was brilliant and really patient. By the end of the session I had started a granny square. When I got home I started another to prove to me that I could do it and to test my memory ! Unfortunately I am still useless at downloading photos. I had a very enjoyable time. Brilliant workshop thank you Sharon
