Sea glass is a wonderful material to work with. Bottles and glass that have been thrown into the sea become tumbled by the waves, gradually smoothing the glass to create a naturally distinctive piece. In this beginner-friendly workshop, your teacher Amie will help you create your very own unique jewellery piece by showing you how to measure, cut, and create a bezel setting to fit sea glass in silver.
Using traditional jewellery techniques, you will learn:
- Cutting
- Texturing
- Forming
- A stone setting technique called bezel setting
- Soldering
- Filing
- Finishing
There will be a large selection of sea glass you can choose from. If you would prefer to work on a gemstone, we have a small selection in stock.
At the end of the class, return home with your finished jewellery along with the confidence and skills to continue your jewellery making hobby!
Please note:
- You will be provided with a piece of silver for setting. However, if you wish the setting to be used on a ring or bangle, there will be a small charge for extra silver used on the day.
- The minimum age to attend is sixteen. A paying adult must accompany all 16-17 year olds.
