This workshop provides a wonderful introduction to the world of crochet, perfect if you’re a complete beginner. Through the course of the workshop, you’ll learn double stitch and treble stitch. You’ll also be shown how to create a chain, working in rows to create a tension square.

You’ll have a craft kit included, ensuring you’ve got the yarn and hook you need. It’s a great opportunity to pick up techniques you can then put into practice when you move on to other patterns.

Keeping everyone safe
At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

Really clear and helpful instructions for complete beginners. It was nice to come away with the confidence to keep practicing what we had learned (ie, three basic stitches) plus two balls of lovely yarn and a crochet hook.

Alix was super; just the two of us participants, Imogen and I left with confidently made samples and enthusiasm. Double and treble crochet stitches to practice, the hook and wool and stitch markers to take home in a goodie bag
