This workshop provides a wonderful introduction to the world of crochet, perfect if you’re a complete beginner. Through the course of the workshop, you’ll learn double stitch and treble stitch. You’ll also be shown how to create a chain, working in rows to create a tension square.

Keeping everyone safe
At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

I signed up to the class with no previous crochet experience and struggling to get my head around video tutorials. As I received 2 crochet kits for Christmas I'd had a bit of practice when the class came around, so I didn't benefit as much as I could. I didn't really learn how to hold the hook without the yarn pulling out of my hand all the time, but I could appreciate that if I had no experience at all the class would have been an ideal introduction. The tutor was friendly, approachable and competent, and the class about the right size.

Beth did a great job of teaching both adults and children at the same time. I feel that we covered as much as possible in the 1.5 hours we had. Well done!

My daughter learned a lot from this workshop. She even asked me to get more workshops as she wants to learn more.
