Create your own perfectly fitting trouser patterns in this workshop. Join me for a fun and inclusive course of learning as I guide you at your own pace through the process of creating your very own trouser block based on your unique measurements. We'll then make a toile (this is a fitting sample - not your final wearable trousers!) to test the fit and transfer these adjustments to your patterns.
In this welcoming and supportive environment, you'll learn the fundamentals of pattern drafting, from taking accurate measurements to translating them into a custom trouser pattern. I will be by your side every step of the way, offering personalised guidance and expert tips to ensure your pattern fits like a dream.
Come as you are, bring your enthusiasm, and leave with your bespoke trouser blocks to go on to make your perfect pair at home, or in the 6 Week Garment Making Course!
For this 2 day workshop we'll be mostly standing to begin with, working at the cutting table with small parts of the first day seated for sewing or breaks. The studio is upstairs in an old victorian building that unfortunately has no lift.
Please note this workshop is about drafting the patterns, we do not make a wearable pair of trousers but rather a fitting sample with the goal of creating a trouser block that fits you perfectly! At the end of the workshop you will be going home with your block draft, patterns, toile and pattern blocks on card or a roll of card to transfer your blocks to at home!
You are welcome to bring lunch or there are a large choice of cafes on Easter Road, a 2-minute walk away. Tea, coffee, and sweet snacks will be provided. You will be welcome to stay in the studio for lunch and/or return to continue your patterns at any time.
